Everyone deserves access

We started Happy Test Shop because nobody should have to gamble with their life. While saving lives is the most urgent goal, we believe in reducing harm in every way possible. People who understand what’s really in a substance can avoid accidental overdoses, serious health complications, or other kinds of harm.

We’re not here to enable or promote drug use. We’re here to equip people with tools and information so they can protect themselves and those around them. Whether it’s a tourist who wants to stay safe, or a friend double-checking a pill they’re unsure about, we want to give them a reliable way to test and decide.

We like the following analogy

At Happy Test Shop, we sell drug testing kits for harm reduction—like fog lights for a treacherous road. People may insist on driving through the mist, but our kits offer that extra visibility so you can see if there’s a cliff or pothole looming. Then you decide whether to keep going or pull over.

Why we started

A few months ago, our friend—an incredibly talented software developer—didn’t show up for Monday’s daily stand-up call. We assumed he was just late or overslept. By Tuesday, we learned the truth: he had passed away over the weekend. He had taken what he believed was a routine sleep aid, but it turned out to be laced with fentanyl. That single hidden ingredient cost him his life.

Losing someone to a contamination he never saw coming caused us to take a hard look at what’s happening around us—even in Thailand, where many people assume they’re safe from the fentanyl crisis, and adulterants more generally. We realized lives can be at risk when anything gets laced, no matter how harmless it might seem.

How our kits operate

  • Rapid analysis

    Our products detect adulterants (like fentanyl) without requiring any contact with human tissue or bodily fluids. Comparable to a fridge thermometer, they measure the “environment” but never directly interact with the human body.

  • Non-medical status

    Our kits are not classified as medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you have questions about specific health conditions or medication, consult a licensed medical practitioner.

  • No implied endorsement

    Providing a detection method does not constitute approval, endorsement, or promotion of substance use. Our focus is on harm reduction, meaning we aim to mitigate risks, not encourage them.
